What is this about?
It’s about music I like. This is not a place for objective critical reviews. I am not an expert, a music journalist, or even a scene maven. I’m just a person who listens to a lot of music, and likes to share the things I find that are cool to me. That last bit is important. I don’t care what you listen to or enjoy, and I really don’t have anything bad to say about whatever thing it is that brings you joy.
However, that doesn’t mean that I am obligated to take seriously, care about, or even listen to once, a band, album, or song that I don’t have an interest in. Feel free to send me links to things to listen to, I might even listen to them. If I don’t write about it, well, I don’t write about it. No judgement; just not my thing.
After silence, that which comes nearest to expressing the inexpressible is music.
Preposterous ass, that never read so far to know the cause why music was ordain’d! Was it not to refresh the mind of man, after his studies or his usual pain?
Music is my constant companion , and has been the most important part of my day, for more than 30 years now. In 2021 I reviewed an album a day as a writing exercise. While I no longer stick to writing a whole review every day, I do enjoy talking about the albums I enjoy, so I continue posting them, much more sporadically, here.
I sometimes also write about music as a concept or thing, as opposed to individual albums. Those essays can be found in my notes. Here are the most recent music notes:
I am slowly moving all of my older album reviews fron their previous home at Trumpet of Amdusias. Until they are all reformatted and moved, you can see older entries there.
